Sakai students will be visiting Berkeley August 1-6, 2025 as part of our Berkeley-Sakai Student Exchange Program. We have 6 students and chaperone Akiko Tanaka led by 1968 Exchange student Yuko (Yamaguchi) Miyamae. They will be staying with host families for the duration of their stay in Berkeley. They arrive on Friday about noon where we will meet them at the airport and bring them back to Berkeley to meet their host families. We will have host family days over the weekend for the families to get to know their students. On Monday we will trek over to San Francisco for some fun in the fog - Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Exploratorium, Lombard Street and the ferry back to the East Bay. Tuesday is Berkeley day where we will meet with Mayor Ishii, tour UC Berkeley, Berkeley High School, Berkeley Historical Society Museum and ride on the Tilden Little Train, followed by a Sayonara Party at Revival RBK. Then early on Wednesday they depart back to Sakai - a very quick trip!
